Horizontal Work

The Generation IV Technology Roadmap identifies six potential horizontal, or crosscutting R&D activities:

• Economics;
• Energy Products;
• Fuels and Materials;
• Fuel cycle;
• Proliferation Resistance and Physical Protection;
• Risk and Safety.
  

Specific work to date has addressed the three highlighted areas above; the other issues are being addressed in the context of the individual systems.
