The Generation IV International Forum (GIF) 2023 Annual Report showcases significant advancements in research and development for Generation IV (Gen IV) reactor systems. Key achievements include numerous publications, webinars, and effective outreach initiatives, alongside technical progress on six GIF systems. In-person meetings, notably in Lyon, facilitated valuable discussions.

A pivotal development in 2023 was the initiation of a new framework agreement, effective from February 2025, ensuring continued global leadership in safe, sustainable nuclear energy.

This year the Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Engineering (AMME) Task Force transitioned to a working group, aiming to expedite Gen IV reactor deployment through advanced technology.

GIF emphasized increasing industry engagement and data sharing to accelerate Gen IV system demonstrations. In response to the rising interest in low-carbon energy solutions, the Task Force on Non-Electric Applications of Nuclear Heat (NEANH) plans a 2024 workshop for extensive industry collaboration.

The second "Pitch your Gen IV Research" competition successfully engaged junior researchers, with notable participation and public voting leading to webinar presentations by the winners.

Looking ahead, GIF aims to further bolster Gen IV systems, focusing on non-electric applications, climate change mitigation, regulatory harmonization, and economic improvements to support commercial deployment.

Note: the report will soon be uploaded in a better quality.
