The Generation IV International Forum (GIF) 2024 Annual Report showcases significant advancements in research and development for Generation IV (Gen IV) reactor systems.

The year 2024 was marked by strong technical progress across all six Generation IV systems, alongside impactful publications, webinars, and outreach activities. Successful meetings in Brussels and London, hosted by Euratom and the United Kingdom, helped fostering collaboration and celebrating progress.

In 2024 GIF launched its redesigned public website, enhancing visibility and engagement with the advanced nuclear technology community, an achievement made possible through close collaboration with the Nuclear Energy Agency.

The Non-Electric and Cogeneration Applications (NECA) Working Group was established to advance the role of nuclear heat in a diversified energy future.

A new framework agreement, effective as of March 2025, will ensure continuity of GIF’s global leadership in developing safe, secure, and sustainable nuclear energy.

Looking ahead, GIF’s 2025–2027 strategy focuses on leveraging existing expertise while expanding collaborations with new actors, start-ups, and markets to accelerate innovation and support deep decarbonization.
